Rochester Historical Commission107 viewsOn December 4, the Rochester Historical Commission presented a plaque to the Women’s Club noting the building's age. The plaque was attached to the building by George Owen and Tim Bates. These plaques are being donated by the commission to some of the town buildings used by the community with a hope of sharing town history. We will be extending this to residents who will be able to purchase a plaque for their historic home.

Marion Food Pantry 107 viewsThe Marion Food Pantry is almost set to open at the Cushing Community Center. Hours will be Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to noon, according to Council on Aging Director Karen Gregory. The pilot program will begin by offering nonperishable food and household items and is considering expanding to Mattapoisett and Rochester, adding perishable food offerings contingent on available storage.

Old Rochester Debate Team107 viewsThe Old Rochester Debate Team has just completed their 2021-2022 debate season. The team was small, but mighty in their wins. Senior varsity partners Mackenzie Wilson and Eddie Gonet IV received first place as the Affirmative Team in the Massachusetts Speech and Debate League with an undefeated record of 9-0. Their negative counterparts, Samuel Harris and Maxwell Vivino, placed second in the league as a negative team with an outstanding record of 8-1.
