During the summer months, Serene is moored in Mattapoisett Harbor when it's not working the waters off Martha’s Vineyard. Lobster fishing has been part of the New England way of life for decades. Veteran’s Day 257 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience. Frosty Runner Road Race257 viewsRunners who participated in the third annual Frosty Runner Road Race enjoyed spring-like weather, perfect for a 10 mile or 3 mile run through the neighborhoods of Rochester. The two separate races were run simultaneously, beginning and ending at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School on Saturday February 1.
