Happy Days at Harbor Days 177 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going. ORR Homecoming Pep Rally177 viewsFriday, October 20, was the annual Homecoming pep rally at Old Rochester Regional High School. Principal Mike Devoll said it best: “This has been the best Homecoming week ever, and this will be the best Homecoming ever!” Devoll was right on all accounts – whether it was skits or sports. Stayin’ Alive 177 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong. Some, like Survival leader Kevin “KT the Kilt Man” Thompson, have attended Survival since they were 7th-graders 30 years ago. Photos by Jean Perry

Harbor Days177 viewsSaturday was a splendid day to celebrate Harbor Days, with thousands turning out throughout the day ahead of Sunday’s dubious weather forecast that caused the early end to the annual weeklong event at Shipyard Park. The Lions Club reports a higher-than-average turnout, and proceeds to benefit charity were also up this year. Photos by Jean Perry
