Living History 171 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean

Happy Days at Harbor Days 171 viewsIt all seems to come and go so quickly year after year, but while the Harbors Days are here the people of Mattapoisett and surrounding towns make time to enjoy the annual seaside event – the fish fry, lobster feast, pancake breakfast, and arts and crafts – that the Mattapoisett Lions Club works so hard all year round to keep going.
