Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Group181 viewsRed, white, and blue was Sharon Doyon’s vision of the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club Garden Group as 18 members gathered at the library to plant on May 26 in areas including the pots at the Mattapoisett Historical Society and Town Hall, window boxes at the post office and Town Beach house, the lighthouse garden at the harbor, plus the gardens and planters at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library.

Veteran’s Day 180 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience. Holiday Tour180 viewsThe Mattapoisett Historical Society and Carriage House opened its doors for the holiday season on Saturday, November 24. The Historical Society is having its annual holiday shop, which features a variety of unique gifts such as historical postcard and map recreations, books, and tree ornaments.
