Mattapoisett Historical Museum Photos239 viewsThe Mattapoisett Historical Museum is in possession of hundreds of photographs dating from the 1800s to as recently as the 1980s bearing images of people and places from Mattapoisett, but lacking identification. In their latest exhibit, the museum is asking the public to help solve the mystery each of the pictures represents. Each black and white or colorized image is a mini-mystery waiting to be solved. Cottage Restored239 viewsA family has restored an old 1925 stone cottage on Snipatuit Pond in Rochester to its original state, and owner Andrea King gave a presentation on the restoration process to the Rochester Historical Society who got to see step by step how the King family, living in the U.S. Virgin Islands, brought the little cottage back to life to make it their second home. On September 23 it took ten enthusiastic little gardeners to pull up a ten-foot tall sunflower and carry it to “Weed Mountain.” After, the kids collected greens, grasses, and flowers to make an arrangement for the main office. Breakfast with Santa239 viewsMarion’s Police Brotherhood held its 3rd annual toy drive and pancake breakfast with Santa at Sippican School on December 6. Families were asked to bring new unwrapped toys, and in return they were given a delicious pancake breakfast and a photo with Santa.
