Marion Veterans Day Observance180 viewsDuring the Marion Veterans Day observance on Friday morning, the townspeople of Marion expressed a heartfelt thank you to the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425, which in return gave a moving farewell as it disbanded this year and donated the VFW building to the town. Organized by the Marion Recreation Department, the event every year draws quite a flock of runners to the start and finish line at Tabor Academy, raising funds for Marion Rec programs and events. Rochester Tractor Pull180 viewsIf you were anywhere near the Rochester Country Fair grounds on Saturday, you heard the familiar sounds of revving tractor engines echoing throughout the town. The country fair committee held a tractor pull/swap fundraiser on April 29. Those who attended got an early taste of the sights, sounds, and smells of the Rochester Country Fair with dirt flying, engines blasting, and diesel smoke billowing up into the air.
