Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all. With soccer, Frisbee, hula-hoops, and dance parties, kids were in constant motion everywhere you looked and one could hear music, laughter, and cheering from every corner of RMS’s green grassy grounds. Family Campout at Camp Hadley196 viewsOn the weekend of June 7 the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts met for their annual Family Campout at Camp Hadley in Marion. The Scouts started off with a firewood moving exercise that got all involved and started the day off right. The Boy Scouts did a great job introducing the Cub Scouts to ‘Line Rescue’ in the water, Knife, Saw and Axe Safety, Fire Safety, Dutch Oven Cooking (with a pineapple upside down cake) and a Flag Raising and Lowering Ceremony.
