Brad Barrows Ride185 viewsThe annual Brad Barrows Ride took place on Saturday, September 19, with around 60 to 70 participants riding on roughly 40 motorcycles. The fundraiser proceeds go to fund local youth sports, a cause that was dear to the late Barrows’ heart. Barrows was the owner of the bad “Brad’s” in Mattapoisett until his death in 2007. Presto Press185 viewsA partnership between the Mattapoisett Historical Society and the public library allowed the sale of duplicate issues of the Presto Press, which was printed from the 1950s until the early 1990s. People poured over the stacks seeking a specific issue or year to take home for their personal archives. Salty’s Silvery Moon Soiree is a fall tradition sponsored by the Mattapoisett Land Trust. Guests enjoy s’mores and cider, music, and stories told by Toby Gills. Human Geometry185 viewsAudiences enjoyed the first of two fall drama productions at Tabor Academy last week. Drama teacher Mark Howland wrote and directed “Human Geometry,” which focused on how mathematical concepts can be used to understand human relationships. Audiences can look forward to another fall production, “Bang Bang You’re Dead,” opening Thursday, November 12, at 7:30 pm at the Will Parker Black Box Theatre. Hot to Trot185 viewsThe third annual “Hot to Trot” dog walk hosted by the Sippican Lands Trust brought about 20 dogs and at least twice as many humans out for a post-Thanksgiving walk at the SLT’s White Eagle property in Marion on November 29.
