In their latest exhibit, the museum is asking the public to help solve the mystery each of the pictures represents. Each black and white or colorized image is a mini-mystery waiting to be solved. Kids Ocean Mile Fun Run288 viewsDrew Weaver, #102, aged 12 of Mattapoisett and Matt Castro, #101, age 12 of Westport, were guaranteed winners September 13 at the Kids Ocean Mile Fun Run put on by the Mattapoisett YMCA. The only ones who signed up to compete, Castro took first place and Weaver took second in a close race. On September 23 it took ten enthusiastic little gardeners to pull up a ten-foot tall sunflower and carry it to “Weed Mountain.” After, the kids collected greens, grasses, and flowers to make an arrangement for the main office. Marion Fire Department288 viewsThe Marion Fire Department celebrated the careers of three of its retiring firefighters on November 8. Deputy Chiefs William Scott, Charles Blanchette, and Scott Cowell were toasted (and roasted) by Marion Fire Chief Thomas Joyce before family and friends at the Marion VFW Saturday night. The wives of MacDougal and Blanchette, and the daughter of Cowell, attached new deputy chief badges on the three gentlemen during the pinning ceremony, and the three selectmen honored the retiring chiefs with gifts.

Breakfast with Santa288 viewsMarion’s Police Brotherhood held its 3rd annual toy drive and pancake breakfast with Santa at Sippican School on December 6. Families were asked to bring new unwrapped toys, and in return they were given a delicious pancake breakfast and a photo with Santa. UMass Dartmouth Holiday Concert288 viewsUMass Dartmouth students took part in a Holiday Concert December 12, 2014, at the the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) Recital Hall. The University community was invited to the concert, which included performances by the University Chorus, Chamber Choir, Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. Some songs performed by the groups include O’ Holy Night, The Christmas Song, and Noel.
