Rochester Council on Aging St. Patrick's Day Luncheon189 viewsThe folks at the Rochester Council on Aging never miss a holiday or a chance to gather together to celebrate. On Friday, March 14, the COA hosted an Irish luncheon, complete with, of course, corned beef and cabbage to mark the occasion. Marion Natural History Museum 189 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted their very first Earth Day Celebration on April 19, providing little ones with activities that focused on our planet and stimulated their senses. There was a make your own planet earth pinwheel table, a station to decorate your own “Earth cookie” with green and blue icing, a puppet show stage, and a boat load of Legos to play with while the sounds of croaking frogs and crickets played in the background. Easter in Rochester189 viewsThere was no other place a kid in Rochester would rather be the day before Easter than in the fields at Plumb Corner. Well over a hundred children lined the two fields, ready to hunt the hundreds of colorful plastic Easter eggs filled with candy that lay in the grass before them. Photo by Jean Perry

World Tai Chi and Qigong Day189 viewsA group in Mattapoisett joined others across the globe in celebrating World Tai Chi and Qigong Day on April 26 at 10:00 am, just as other groups did at 10:00 am in their local time zones. Led by Tai Chi Practitioner Colman Fink, 15 locals moved gracefully together with conscious breath in the downstairs of the Mattapoisett Free Library – thanks to the rain that dampened the plan to meet at Ned’s Point for a second year in a row.
