She stopped while wandering the walled city of Lucca to have this photo taken with a copy of her hometown newspaper The Wanderer. Built in 1504-1645 the walls are among the best preserved Renaissance defences in Europe. The fifth grader also toured Portofino, Florence, Venice and Verona. Phoning It In1169 viewsThe ORR Athletic Booster Club (ORRABC) will hold their annual Phonathon Fundraiser from March 4 - March 20, 2008. Funds raised by the Booster Club have been used to enhance the school’s athletic facilities and to purchase equipment used by all of the teams. Last year the ORR Girls’ Track Team (pictured here) purchased a golf cart using their team funds raised through Booster Club calendar sales which is used by the school’s athletic trainer to respond to athletes in need of care.

Safe Landing1169 viewsA U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopter, which landed in a field on the Rochester/Marion town line, drew a lot of on lookers. The helicopter, which is from Otis Air Base, landed in the field for cautionary, reasons just after noon time on Friday. Workin' at the Car Wash1166 viewsMembers of the Old Rochester Youth Football and Cheerleading (ORYF) League recently held a benefit Car Wash at the Marion Fire Station on Spring Street. Over the next month, the league will be holding a series of car washes to raise money for uniforms, pads, footballs, poms-poms, first aid kits, and other necessary supplies and fees.
