Marion Holiday Stroll196 views It was all about Santa on December 10 for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll, although at first the Grinch stole the show (but not Christmas) until Santa made his big arrival at Town Wharf to the chanting of his name, stealing back from the Grinch his rightful place as the center of attention. Winterfest196 viewsORRJHS hosted a fun Friday night for Grades 6-8 on January 19, providing a ‘Winterfest’ to break up the chilly season with some heated up fun, such as dancing to a DJ, disco lights, and an inflatables room complete with jousting, bouncing, and inflatable sumo wrestling. And don’t forget the cocoa, cookies, and cotton candy, which took on a snowy-like life of its own as 12th grade AmbassadORs tried to keep up with the supply … and demand. Photos by Jean Perry

Blacking Out 196 viewsSomeone else may have written the words, but it takes a poet to pluck out the meaningful ones and turn it into a poem. The Mattapoisett Library hosted a Blackout Poetry Lab on Saturday, April 21, and provided all the materials for any blackout poet to explore the art form. April is Poetry Month, and this was just one of many celebrations of poetry at the library. Photos by Jean Perry

Marion Natural History Museum196 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after school group had a great time learning the difference between wild animal tracks, including coyote, raccoon, and bobcat. We also enjoyed practicing how to move like various animals by waddling, walking, bounding, and hopping. Bounding like a fisher cat and hopping like a snow shoe hare were by far the most difficult gaits to practice due to the placement of the rear feet versus the front. Many thanks to Jennifer Carlino for sharing her considerable expertise with us
