Marion Veterans Day Observance197 viewsDuring the Marion Veterans Day observance on Friday morning, the townspeople of Marion expressed a heartfelt thank you to the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425, which in return gave a moving farewell as it disbanded this year and donated the VFW building to the town. Annual Turkey Trot 5K 197 viewsThe Annual Turkey Trot 5K wound its way through Marion Village on Sunday, November 17, with 182 trotters (and some ‘turkeys’ as well) braving a chilling wind that morning to make it to the finish line. Organized by the Marion Recreation Department, the event every year draws quite a flock of runners to the start and finish line at Tabor Academy, raising funds for Marion Rec programs and events. Student Exhibit197 viewsUnder the supervision of art teacher Erin Kirk, the art students at Sippican School will exhibit a collection of works in the Marion Art Center’s Patsy Francis (upstairs) Gallery from February 13-March 11. This show celebrates the immense talent of the Sippican School students and will include several works from each grade level, representing various subjects and mediums.

RMS C.A.R.E.S.197 viewsThe fourth-graders at Rochester Memorial School put on a presentation on Thursday, January 26, called RMS C.A.R.E.S. Each fourth grade class represented a word comprising the C.A.R.E.S. acronym: Cooperation, Assertiveness, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control.
