Taber Fall Lapsit Program261 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Mattapoisett Fire Station Open House261 viewsThe Mattapoisett Fire Station was packed with hundreds of children and their grown-ups for the October 9 Open House during Fire Prevention Week, enjoying the balloons, face painting, plastic firefighter hats, and free Chinese food. Hot-To-Trot Dog Walk261 viewsOn November 30, a spring-like winter’s day, the Sippican Lands Trust held its 2nd annual Hot-To-Trot Post-Thanksgiving Day dog walk. About 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their humans out for a guided tour of the White Eagle property located off Route 6 in Marion. Dogs received stylish orange neckerchiefs and dog treats. Marion Village Stroll261 viewsThere were hundreds strolling the streets during the 2014 Marion Holiday Stroll on December 14. Celebrity sightings included Santa Claus on his carriage, the Grinch, the Nutcracker, and Sparky the Fire Dog. The Showstoppers and The Sippican School Marching Band lit up the afternoon until the tree lighting ceremony lit up the night, the finale of that starry-skied evening. The Mattapoisett Lion’s Club in partnership with local businesses hosted the annual tree lighting at Shipyard Park on Saturday, December 13.
