Marion Natural History Museum224 viewsMany thanks to Justin and Jess Barrett of the Nasketucket Bird Club for sharing their expertise and helping the Marion Natural History Museum after school group locate many of our spring bird arrivals. We viewed a red-tailed hawk, two vultures, many robins, a downy woodpecker, and many more. We also learned about each bird's habitat and food sources, and finished our program by making a hanging bird feeder. Photos courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold

Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race224 viewsThe Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race wound its way along the Mattapoisett River for its 84th year. Still, those who have been racing year after year made it another successful race, continuing an important Tri-Town tradition. Photos by Jean Perry

Stayin’ Alive 224 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong. Some, like Survival leader Kevin “KT the Kilt Man” Thompson, have attended Survival since they were 7th-graders 30 years ago. Photos by Jean Perry
