One of the highlights was they we were able to take a close look at the largest Pipefish we’d ever seen. Veteran’s Day 217 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience. Sandy Relief217 viewsOn Friday, November 16, members of the Mattapoisett Lions Club packed a moving truck full of food and supplies and drove them down to Queens, NY to distribute them to victims of Hurricane Sandy. Nick's Pizza, Oxford Creamery, Mattapoisett Chowder House, On the Go and Panino's all donated soups and hot dogs to be served to those in need. The Rochester Lions Club also cooked chili to serve.
