Salty's Hat219 viewsEarly this past Friday, December 1, as folks were rushing to work and children settling into school, an annual tradition transpired in Mattapoisett at the corner of Route 6 and North Street. With the placement of the Santa hat upon the head of our beloved Salty the Seahorse, the holiday season officially began. As they do every year, the folks at Brownell Systems assisted the Mattapoisett Land Trust in the placement of the hat via a tall crane. Photo by Paul Lopes

Tabor Academy Polar Plunge219 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000.
