Marion Natural History Museum270 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group had a wonderful time exploring what works (and what doesn't) when constructing a wooden sailboat. The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel. After decorating their vessels, students raced the boats down two long rain gutters filled with water. Many thanks to engineer Mark Whalen for yet another terrific program! We also learned about each bird's habitat and food sources, and finished our program by making a hanging bird feeder. Photos courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold
