One of the highlights was they we were able to take a close look at the largest Pipefish we’d ever seen. Nightmare at 13222 viewsThe Marion Recreation Committee hosted a Nightmare at 13 Atlantis Drive Haunted House Tour on Saturday October 27th. The fund raiser was originally scheduled to run for two nights and to include Sunday but was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Veteran’s Day 222 viewsOn November 12, members of the Mattapoisett community gathered together at Old Hammondtown Elementary School for their annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. Commander Michael Lamoureux served as emcee of the event while State Representative William Straus, Selectman Paul Silva, Veterans’ Agent Barry Denham and U.S. Navy Lieutenant Scott Burrill addressed the audience. Marion Art Center Show222 viewsThe Marion Art Center unveiled its new show in a special opening reception at the gallery on Friday, January 11. The 2013 Winter Members Exhibition features over 60 works by about 30 local artists, some well-known and some new to the local art scene. This is the first of two bi-annual shows that showcase work by members of MAC, from oil paintings to multi-media. Check out some of the great art work being created by Tri-Town artists. Informance Concert222 viewsOn Sunday, January 27, the South Coast Children’s Chorus held an Informance Concert which allowed potentially interested members to come in and see what the group is all about.
