Brad Barrows Ride318 viewsThe annual Brad Barrows Ride took place on Saturday, September 19, with around 60 to 70 participants riding on roughly 40 motorcycles. The fundraiser proceeds go to fund local youth sports, a cause that was dear to the late Barrows’ heart. Barrows was the owner of the bad “Brad’s” in Mattapoisett until his death in 2007. Rochester Christmas Tree Lighting318 viewsRochester held its annual tree lighting on Monday night, December 7, in front of the Town Hall. Hundreds attended and greeted jolly old Saint Nick as he rode in on the town’s new yellow fire tower truck. RMS students in the band and chorus sang Christmas carols and guests enjoyed complimentary cider and cocoa inside Town Hall afterwards. Photos by Colin Veitch

Pizza with Santa318 viewsThe Marion Police Brotherhood held its annual “Pizza with Santa” on Sunday, December 6, keeping up the tradition of collecting toy donations for its “Stuff a Cruiser” toy drive to benefit those served by the Justice Resource Institute. Sippican School Garden Club318 viewsThe Sippican School Garden Club has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Whole Kids Foundation to fund installation of a greenhouse on the school campus. This grant was supplemented by a $2,000 matching contribution from the Marion Garden Group, $1,000 from a donated discretionary fund, and $500 from another anonymous donor to fully fund the project.

Waddles318 views‘Waddles’ the cat gave birth on Saturday, April 23, to the largest litter of kittens that Pamela Robinson, owner of It’s All About the Animals cat shelter in Rochester, had ever seen. Robinson and the vet delivered a whopping litter of 12 kittens, with 10 surviving the birth. The average litter is four kittens. Photo by Jean Perry

Miss Inspirational318 viewsThe Miss Inspirational program took to the ORR stage and stole the show on Friday, May 6, during a packed auditorium assembled to see 29 young women of all abilities showcase their talents and accomplishments. Miss South Coast, Jillian Zucco, coordinated the fundraising event as part of her progress towards the upcoming Miss Massachusetts pageant.
