Alpacapalooza! 319 viewsPine Meadows Farm in Mattapoisett is home to some 17 alpacas. Owners Heidi and Jeff Paine opened up the farm to the public over the weekend once the weather cleared. Saturday the alpacas were still drying off from the rain, but by Sunday their fleece was again fluffy and soft. Photos by Jean Perry

With the placement of the Santa hat upon the head of our beloved Salty the Seahorse, the holiday season officially began. As they do every year, the folks at Brownell Systems assisted the Mattapoisett Land Trust in the placement of the hat via a tall crane. Photo by Paul Lopes

Christmas Day Swim319 viewsThe Helping Hands and Hooves’ annual Christmas Day Swim was preceded by a polar plunge in the weather and a brief ‘snownado’ of sorts as the winds swept snow and sleet across the area only minutes before enthusiastic participants in costume arrived at the Mattapoisett Town Beach and raced into the icy waters.
