Marion Block Party318 views: The Marion Block Party was held on Saturday, August 25, 2012, in front of the Town Hall. The family bar-b-que lasted all day, and featured a classic car display, live music, and kids activities. Proceeds from the event will go to help fund the construction of a new playground at Washburn Park and to help pay for a new thermal imager for the Marion Fire Department. Annual Christmas Fair318 views The Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Mattapoisett held its annual Christmas fair on Saturday, November 30. The sale featured an array of hand-made artisan goods from custom Christmas tree ornaments to fine baked goods. New Year Plunge318 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer.
