ORR Pep Rally322 viewsPrincipal Michael Devoll gave Old Rochester Regional High School students a “shot in the arm” of school spirit on Friday January 31 – rather overdue for a school with a varsity basketball team currently in first place, a number of losing streaks in sports that have finally come to an end, and an undefeated debate team, among other reasons for students to be proud. FORM Concert 322 viewsThe tri-town FORM concert brought together students whose combined musicality entertained a full house. The performers sang song style selections from spiritual to jazz and the crowd pleaser “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Rochester Memorial School. Combining the voices of nearly 300 students the finale was a soulful treatment of “Wade In The Water”. Funds raised through FORM concerts support scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors who have completed at least two full years in a school music program.

Butterfly Release322 viewsDebbie Thompson of Marion raised monarch butterflies from caterpillar to chrysalis with her preschool students and finally released them on September 26. This is the second year Thompson raised butterflies, tagged them, and released them into the wild with her students. “For the kids it’s such a magical thing,” said Thompson. The bright blue sky made a spectacular backdrop for the butterflies’ bright wings as they flew away. Photos by Jean Perry
