Marion Natural History Museum219 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group had a great time working with natural materials to create structures, candleholders, jewelry boxes, cairns, and a communal landscape complete with bridge, benches, and trees. As usual, the kids exhibited outstanding cooperation, creativity, and imagination. Stayin’ Alive 219 viewsSurvival Week at ORR Junior High kicked off on the early morning of Sunday, June 17, as the 7th-graders boarded the busses for Western Massachusetts for a week of roughing it in the wild. And for this generation, that simply means no electronic devices and no Dunkin’ Donuts. Survival is now in its 46th year and still going strong. The Scoop on S.C.O.P.E. 219 viewsORRJHS 7th-grade students participated in the annual S.C.O.P.E. cardboard boat race at the beach at the Mattapoisett YMCA last Wednesday, June 20. The students engineer and build their boats – some sink, some sail – and this year team “Funky Monkey” came in first place. There were 15 boats in all this year, all created by teams of four.
