New Year Plunge287 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer. Rochester Green Ways 287 viewsOn Wednesday, May15th the Rochester Green Ways Committee met to work on its Wildflower Garden in the center of town. Members cleaned up winter debris, weeded the beds that are filled with native and introduced plants that are called weeds by some and planted new seed for this and future years beauty. This is a necessary chore that was enhanced by the fact that it was held on the state and national Plant Something Day.
