The fund raiser was originally scheduled to run for two nights and to include Sunday but was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. The Historical Society is having its annual holiday shop, which features a variety of unique gifts such as historical postcard and map recreations, books, and tree ornaments. New Year Plunge219 viewsOn January 1, 2013, Mattapoisett Town Beach played host to a New Year’s polar plunge fundraiser. The event, which attracted over 400 people, raised money to benefit BAM Foundation, Inc., a New Bedford non-profit which donates money to South Coast families dealing with members who have cancer.
