Coastal Sweep241 viewsLed by Marion resident Peter McDonald, environmentally-minded locals and Tabor students descended upon Marions Silvershell Beach and Planting Island, Mattapoisett Town Beach and Warehams Onset Beach to pick up trash and debris on the morning of September 17, 2011. The residents cleaned the beaches in solidarity with 400,000 individuals in 120 countries, all who participated in a global beach cleanup orchestrated by the Ocean Conservancy.
