Rochester turned 340 356 viewsHey, hey, it’s your birthday, Rochester! Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Road Race Fundraising355 viewsThe Rochester Road Race would like to thank the 444 runners and walkers who participated in the 2009 Race for helping to ensure that fewer local families go hungry this holiday season. On Tuesday, October 6, the Road Race Board presented a check for $4,000 to Father Gabriel Healy, Director and Treasurer of Damien’s Place Food Pantry in Wareham.

Octopurr Fest355 viewsIt’s All About the Animals held its 5th annual Octopurr Fest on October 6. The fundraiser featured food, games, music, and craft booths. Owner and operator of the no-kill shelter, Pam Robinson, said 100 percent of all proceeds would go directly to the care of the felines. Rochester Country Fair354 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.
