Andrew Daniel, Rochester facilities manager who was instrumental in bringing the petition to Nelson’s attention, and Dexter’s sister Debbie Townsend both shared words with the packed house that turned out in Dexter’s honor.

Rochester Fire83 viewsOccupants and their animals escaped an October 28 fire that destroyed their house on North Avenue in Rochester. One occupant of the residence was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Rochester Fire Department, which arrived eight minutes after the 12:39 pm call to address heavy fire and smoke in the attached garage, according to the department's report on its Facebook page.

Rochester Grange Agricultural Fair81 viewsUnlike recent years when greeted by stifling heat or torrential rain, the 2023 Rochester Grange Agricultural Fair was held in gorgeous weather on August 19. Outside the Grange Hall, attendees enjoyed animals large and small with the Plymouth County 4-H Club, while inside blue, red, green and yellow ribbons adorned winning entries from farmers, gardeners and craftsmen of all ages.
