Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. (Yuck!) Or a yellow birch? (Yum!) We learned about opposite and alternate leaf arrangement on a branch, what lenticels look like on a birch and a hickory, and that you can make tea out of sassafras.
