(Yuck!) Or a yellow birch? (Yum!) We learned about opposite and alternate leaf arrangement on a branch, what lenticels look like on a birch and a hickory, and that you can make tea out of sassafras. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station. Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack.
