SLT Oyster Fest 395 viewsThe Sippican Lands Trust’s Beer and Oyster Fest fundraiser was a hit despite the threat of approaching Hurricane Dorian, which was replaced with blue skies just in time, and holding the event earlier in the day mitigated the guests’ exposure to EEE-carrying mosquitos. Marion Natural History Museum395 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group would like to thank Dawn Gates-Allen of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association for the enjoyable program involving one of Southeastern Massachusetts’ most important crops. We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. Antiques Annual392 viewsThe Sippican Historical Society hosted their 17th Annual Marion Antiques Show this past weekend at Tabor Academy’s Fish Athletic Center. The event is the group’s main fundraiser each year, kicking off with a with a gala preview party on Friday, August 14.
