Celebrating the 4th405 viewsMarion's annual fireworks display attracted several thousand people to the town's Silvershell Beach Park on Friday evening July, 3. The Marion town band entertained the crowd until dusk when the night's big show lit up the sky's above Sippican Harbor. The Marion Fireworks Committee raised all of the funds for the event through private donations, collected up through the night of the show. Photo by Robert Chiarito.

Marion Natural History Museum405 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group would like to thank Dawn Gates-Allen of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association for the enjoyable program involving one of Southeastern Massachusetts’ most important crops. We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry. Top Tigers404 viewsThe Marion Tigers ended their season as league champions in the Marion and Mattapoisett South Coast Youth Baseball Alliance. The Tigers finished their season with a record of 17-5. Game three of the series final was played on July 6th at Town Field in Marion. Both teams had won one game each entering the final. The game ended with a final score of 15-2 the Tigers defeating the Rangers of Mattapoisett.
