We learned about their life cycle, the plants these animals must have to reproduce and the plants they need to be able to survive their extremely long migration routes. We watched a video Maggie had taken of a monarch butterfly emerging from its chrysalis and expanding its wings to fly.

Halloween Parade72 viewsThe streets of Marion were flooded with Halloween Parade participants and attendees, as members of the Sippican Elementary School Band helped the “witches” of the Marion Art Center lead a procession that began at the Music Hall and went down Front Street, up Main Street past the Elizabeth Taber statue and onto Spring Street, where children were met at Town House by staff members handing out candy for the kids. First, Karen showed us how gravity and a simple bucket suspended on a line and filled with paint can produce beautiful paintings. The students painted their canvases with a colorful background and then placed them under the suspended bucket pendulum. When filled with paint and rotated over the canvases.
