Works have been created by students from Sippican Elementary and Old Rochester Regional Junior and Senior high schools. Marion Natural History Museum108 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s after-school group had fun with hands-on inspections of some of our local amphibian species. We took a look at Green frog tadpoles, Wood frog and salamander egg masses. We also looked at some of our aquatic invertebrates, such as Water boatman, Caddisfly larvae and others that help by breaking down the leaves at the bottom of the pool and starting the forest food chain. Marion Natural History Museum108 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group had a chance to explore and map Ram Island with Dr. Michael Moore and Mrs. Hannah Moore this week. We investigated salt marshes and mapped osprey nests, found some horseshoe crabs and met some donkeys, chickens and friendly dogs on both our Wednesday and Thursday trips. The group has been meeting at the Rochester Council on Aging for years, providing mutual support and guidance as each artist works on their pieces. Ghosts! Explaining the Paranormal108 viewsOver 50 people were in attendance for the first night of a six-week series called "Ghosts! Explaining the Paranormal." This course on the paranormal is being hosted by Saint Gabriel's Episcopal Church. Father Eric Fialho, the rector of the parish, has developed a course which explores what the wider church believes about the topic of ghosts. Participants were treated to a lecture with periods of questions and answers. Registration for the course has ended. Father Fialho had this to say, "I am not surprised

Marion Natural History Museum107 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group had a wonderful time setting off their rockets on June 9. Despite the blistering hot weather, the rockets were all successfully launched, and the parachutes deployed (most of the time). The students had built their rockets at home before the program with a YouTube video created by the program's presenter, Mike Cronin.
