The event included musical entertainment by Tri-County musicians, Grades 4 and 5 bands from Sippican Elementary School, Sippican Historical Society carolers and Tabor Academy students, horse-drawn carriage rides, street entertainment, seasonal refreshments courtesy of area merchants, goodie bags from VASE, and crafts for kids. Fiber Fusion is the name of the show as well as the name of the five artists whose imaginations are on full display. Christine Anderson, Carol Flax, Lorraine Gentil Hayes, Lisa Horton, and Toni Newhall are Fiber Fusion. Their works bridge the worlds of nature and art in new ways.

Marion Natural History Museum110 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group wishes to thank Dave Wilson and Isaac Perry of the Marion Harbormaster’s Office for the fun tour of Sippican Harbor last Wednesday. The wind was too strong to land on Bird Island, but we had a chance to view the activity on the island from the water and watch the terns catch some fish. Despite the blistering hot weather, the rockets were all successfully launched, and the parachutes deployed (most of the time). The students had built their rockets at home before the program with a YouTube video created by the program's presenter, Mike Cronin.

Marion 4th of July Parade110 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F
