Fireworks Gala255 viewsPeople were still trickling in at 8:00 pm as the Marion Fireworks Committee’s second annual beach party on April 5 started picking up the pace with music and lights provided by Fun 107’s Michael Rock, and guests holding drinks with little umbrellas began shaking their hips. Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32255 viewsThe Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32 recently took part in a Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Class at the Marion Fire Department that was arranged by Star Scout Chris Horton. Firefighters Mike Enright and Kevin Buckley taught a Friends and Family version of CPR class in two hours. The Scouts got hands on experience in what it takes to save a life and the dangers therein.

Hot-To-Trot Dog Walk255 viewsOn November 30, a spring-like winter’s day, the Sippican Lands Trust held its 2nd annual Hot-To-Trot Post-Thanksgiving Day dog walk. About 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their humans out for a guided tour of the White Eagle property located off Route 6 in Marion. Dogs received stylish orange neckerchiefs and dog treats. There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall. Antique Car Show255 views It was a great turnout for the Agawam’s 3rd Annual Antique Car Show at Washburn Park in Marion on Saturday, August 29. Classic car entrants signed their antique automobiles up for a chance to win first, second, or third place in the show. The sponsoring group, Agawam Chapter No. 121 Order of the Eastern Star, uses the proceeds from the event to benefit various charities the group supports.
