We spoke about the history of collecting nature-related artifacts worldwide, beginning with "cabinets of curiosities" owned by individuals through modern day museums, and how studying these specimens helps us gain historic perspective. The group explored the museum's collections of minerals, shells, bird eggs and nests, among many other items.

The museum lost many of its specimens during our ceiling collapse and these incredibly detailed pieces are greatly appreciated. Marion Halloween Parade 2017238 viewsHalloween in the Marion village is one event that shouldn’t be missed! Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center.
