Cushing VFW Post 2425, which in return gave a moving farewell as it disbanded this year and donated the VFW building to the town. Annual Turkey Trot 5K 253 viewsThe Annual Turkey Trot 5K wound its way through Marion Village on Sunday, November 17, with 182 trotters (and some ‘turkeys’ as well) braving a chilling wind that morning to make it to the finish line. Organized by the Marion Recreation Department, the event every year draws quite a flock of runners to the start and finish line at Tabor Academy, raising funds for Marion Rec programs and events. Tricia showed us some of her commissioned art pieces, as well as examples of nature journaling from various artists. Marion Natural History Museum253 viewsOn Wednesday, the Marion Natural History Museum's after school group created a soil profile for the museum and took an inventory of the creatures in different types of soils. The students also learned with the use of a rain-simulator that soil that is too well worked will compact, and water will run off the top instead of getting to the roots of plants.

Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center.
