Veteran's Day 2013306 viewsThe Tri-Town honored veterans on Monday with moving programs. In Marion, the parade included Cub Scout Pack 32, Master of Ceremonies Joe Napoli, and the Sippican School Band. In Mattpoisett, Daniel Mazzuca gave a speech that focused on what our country can do for veterans in need of jobs, housing, and mental health services. Butterfly Release306 viewsDebbie Thompson of Marion raised monarch butterflies from caterpillar to chrysalis with her preschool students and finally released them on September 26. This is the second year Thompson raised butterflies, tagged them, and released them into the wild with her students. “For the kids it’s such a magical thing,” said Thompson. Taber Fall Lapsit Program306 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
