Marion Art Center Show225 viewsThe Marion Art Center unveiled its new show in a special opening reception at the gallery on Friday, January 11. The 2013 Winter Members Exhibition features over 60 works by about 30 local artists, some well-known and some new to the local art scene. This is the first of two bi-annual shows that showcase work by members of MAC, from oil paintings to multi-media. Check out some of the great art work being created by Tri-Town artists. Frank McNamee225 viewsFrank McNamee gave a talk on May 1 to the Marion Council on Aging entitled, “What’s in Your Attic?” at the Marion Police Station. He discussed many of the important objects that he discovered in attics of local homes and how much they were worth. He also appraised objects brought in by Council on Aging members as well as discussing the values of objects he brought in from his antiques shop. The speech was taped by the local cable station, ORCTV, channel 9 for Comcast, channel 36 for Verizon subscribers.
