Marion Natural History Museum270 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Kitty Degroot for sharing her expertise as a beekeeper with our group. The students learned that 10 bees weigh the same as one M&M, and how bees communicate by dancing. We explored beekeeping equipment and which hive box holds the queen and which holds the honey. The museum also wishes to thank the volunteers who assisted with the program. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold

Marion Holiday Stroll270 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year.
