Marion Holiday Stroll348 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. Arts in the Park348 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s annual “Arts in the Park” event was greeted by a gorgeous weekend, as cars lined Marion’s streets and visitors strolled through Bicentennial Park, ducking into the shade of white tents to visit the many artisans and their goods. MAC Show347 viewsA two-person show will be opening at the Marion Art Center on February 28 with a reception to meet the artists from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The first exhibit, entitled Beauty in the Boatyard Ten Years at Burr Brothers is by artist Terry Coleman, and the second exhibit entitled Landscapes and Figures, Real and Imaginary is by artist Molly Watson Hawley. Both artists have ties to New England and Marion.
