Marion Natural History Museum299 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group enjoyed making gifts with natural and recycled materials at their annual holiday party. We wish to thank all the volunteers from Tabor Academy, ORRHS, and the parents for all their help with our programs this past year. Upcoming programs will be posted on the museum's website www.marionmuseum.org, and on the museum's Facebook page.

Marion Natural History Museum299 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after school program had fun with insects, like the Madagascar cockroach and the "toe-biter," AKA giant water bug. Outside, we took a closer look at some of the insects we can find in our neighborhoods. Many thanks to Blake Dinius of the Plymouth County Extension Service and the student volunteers from Tabor Academy and ORR. Photos courtesy Elizabeth Leidold

SLT Oyster Fest 299 viewsThe Sippican Lands Trust’s Beer and Oyster Fest fundraiser was a hit despite the threat of approaching Hurricane Dorian, which was replaced with blue skies just in time, and holding the event earlier in the day mitigated the guests’ exposure to EEE-carrying mosquitos. The SLT sold 214 tickets and was pleased with the turnout. Photos by Shawn Sweet and Lauren Boucher.

4th Fireworks298 viewsDespite funding setbacks, the Marion fireworks took place this year at Silver Shell Beach under perfectly clear skies. Revelers enjoyed the patriotic music of Phil Sanborn and the Marion Concert Band while brilliant colors illuminated the harbor. Unless the town can secure a permanent source of funding, next year’s fireworks may be in jeopardy. Photo by Felix Perez.
