2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup377 viewsMarion resident Jim Stewart and his wife Maura teamed up with Doug and Ingrid Scott of Castine, Maine to win the 2012 Stone Horse Builder’s Cup Race on Buzzards Bay earlier this month. Turtle377 viewsSome of the residents of Jenney Lane at The Cove in Marion have found a new passion in rescuing diamond-backed terrapin eggs and safely releasing the hatchlings into the wild. A private neighborhood group, along with “Turtle Guy” Don Lewis and wife Sue Weiber Nourse, created a terrapin habitat restoration project knows as the turtle garden at The Cove. This show celebrates the immense talent of the Sippican School students and will include several works from each grade level, representing various subjects and mediums.

Marion Town Party377 viewsChalk up another successful Marion Town Party as several hundred party-goers found good food and fun on the grounds of the Town House on 8/25. Children of all ages enjoyed inflatable games, climbing the rock wall, or jumping around to music. The annual party has its roots deep in the community and may have started as early at 1900. This year’s event featured live entertainment, a scavenger hunt, and lots of good food.

The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether.
