Taking first place for best centerpiece was Table 29 with its Barbie theme. The Whale, at Table 1, was runner-up, and the Bird table (27) was third. Named after the Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr., the preserve includes multiple trails spanning from Angelica Avenue out to Route 6 and in between a vernal pool that has served as an off-campus classroom for local students. Working long hours, the do-it-all staff improvises daily to provide support and supply nourishment for actors and crew. The story follows an Iranian immigrant who marries her billionaire boss's son to maintain her American visa, but the green-card arrangement encounters unexpected challenge when the bride’s besties bring boyfriends with their cross-cultural baggage.

Arbor Day123 viewsOn Arbor Day, April 25, the Mattapoisett Tree Committee hosted a flag raising as well as a tree planting in memory of teacher Bill Spark. Chair Nancy Souza and Treasurer Dianne Tsitsos were present as well as Chris Nadeau, Emerson Schroder, and Garrett Bauer of the Mattapoisett Highway Department. This is a continuation of a major goal by the land trust: educating children about our natural environment.
