The Halloween themed party on October 19 featured musical performances by Jeff and Lisa Dunn, storytelling by the campfire with Karen Chace, and make-your-own s’mores. Charitable Giving87 viewsElder law attorney Brandon Walecka presented a lively session on charitable giving in Reynard Hall of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. A healthy crowd attended, asking questions to be better informed about leaving a legacy that follows one's personal philanthropic goals. Is it the second year holding this event and there were 404 registered participants (an increase from 198 last year). They raised just over $10,000 to donate to new mother's right here on the South Coast

Kayak Clinic86 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years. Great Picnic86 viewsAttendees at Friday night’s “Great Picnic” on the one-acre Munro preserve overlooking Mattapoisett Harbor enjoyed live music and adorned their tables with creatively competitive centerpieces featuring everything from a palm tree to pickleballs. Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years.
