Holiday in the Park 41 viewsMattapoisett's annual Holiday in the Park held on December 9 was a grand success. Buffet-style food tables featured delicious items from local restaurants and shops, from donuts to pizza to Chinese offerings and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand for little ones to share their wishes for a special gift, while elves, Frosty, and one of Santa's reindeer strolled the park spreading holiday cheer. The Lions Club table received donations of new toys and nonperishable foods, while the Old Rochester Regional

Dolls41 viewsDolls are said to have existed since the Paleolithic Era according to Jenny McIntyre, who on August 6 gave a presentation at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. The dolls on display spanned from the 1800s to the 1960s, looking out at the audience as McIntyre explained the composition of dolls through the ages. The display showed how dolls reflect the breath of human activity from fancy dress to modest burlap coverings and all walks of life. Photos by Marilou Newell

Bright blue skies graced the heavens while here on earth, children cavorted across Shipyard Park with seasonal tunes playing in the background like “Purple People Eater”.
