Lions Club Fall Free Family Fun Festival 170 viewsThe Lions Club Fall Free Family Fun Festival on October 12 brought out the Halloween fun. Bright blue skies graced the heavens while here on earth, children cavorted across Shipyard Park with seasonal tunes playing in the background like “Purple People Eater”.

The unusual weather event downed power lines and hundreds of trees, knocking out power to many homes north of Route 195. Television news crews descended from Boston, as the Mattapoisett Fire and Police departments worked with utility companies and many power lines to clean up roads and assist area residents coming home to frightening scenes.
